Aberconwy Mind runs a ‘Dealing with Anxiety’ support groups starting at 10.30am and finishing by 12.30pm on Mondays. The sessions help with: 

  • Defining anxiety
  • Signs & symptoms 
  • Fight or flight 
  • Negative thinking 
  • Unhelpful vs. helpful coping strategies.

The sessions are free of charge.

Growing in Confidence

Tuesdays 10.30am – 12.30pm (runs over a 4 week cycle):

Need confidence? Looking for support?

Aberconwy Mind runs a ‘Growing in Confidence’ support groups starting at 10.30am and finishing by 12.30pm on Tuesdays. The sessions help with: 

  • Introduction to self-esteem and self-confidence
  • Defining assertiveness 
  • How assertive are you? 
  • Why do people lack assertiveness? 
  • How to speak up for yourself.
  • Causes of low self-esteem 
  • Consequences of low self-esteem 
  • Developing self-esteem. 

The sessions are free of charge.

General Wellbeing

Thursdays 10.30am – 12.30pm (runs over a 4 week cycle):

Aberconwy Mind runs a ‘General Wellbeing’ support groups starting at 10.30am and finishing by 12.30pm on Thursdays. The sessions help with: 

  • Introduction to wellbeing and resilience 
  • Food and mood 
  • Sleep 
  • Being active 
  • Mindfulness
  • How can you support yourself and others
  • 5 Ways to wellbeing. 

The sessions are free of charge.

Young People’s Group

Thursday 1.00pm – 3.00pm

A group for 18-25 year olds to meet and discuss issues concerning young people including:

  • Social anxiety
  • Getting into work
  • Higher and further education
  • Healthy relationships

Drop-in

Mondays to Fridays (1 – 4pm)

Art group

Wednesdays (10.30am – 12pm)

Various types of art projects designed and created. Many artistic styles are used in a fun way with guidance, encouragement and inspiration. 

Arts and crafts group

Thursdays (11am – 12.00pm)

Art and craft design and creativity. Model, paint, collage, letting creativity flow.

Tai chi

Thursdays (2.45pm – 3.30pm)

Gentle relaxing exercise and movement to find balance. 

Women’s group

Tuesdays (1.30pm – 4.00pm)

Get together, create and have fun with the ladies! They have made greetings cards for all occasions along with other art projects (they take suggestions). Gentle exercises often start sessions. 

Creative writing group

Fridays (2.00pm – 4.00pm)

Share through language and experience. Write fiction, autobiographical pieces or poetry. Share you work with the rest of the group. 

Unique transgender group

Alternate Fridays (10.00am – 12.15pm)

Regular meeting on alternate Fridays for the Unique TG group. Guidance and support is available on a range of transgender issues.

Photography group

Wednesdays (10.30am – 12.00pm)

Capture the moment. Explore the world through the lens of a camera or mobile phone with guidance on composition.

One to one support workers

Identify support needs and aspirations with the guidance of a support worker. Tackle goals and priorities using the ‘Wellbeing Journal’ or talk to a friendly, understanding, non-judgemental listener.
